Sometimes it’s hard to wrap my mind around the fact that our 10-month old is almost one year old. We’ve already started planning his first birthday party and I am feeling all the mom feelings; so happy that he’s growing and learning and getting bigger, but also a little sad that my little baby is no longer a baby! This age has been our favorite (do I say that every month?), because he has really started to turn into a little ham. He has laughing all the time! He’s army crawling (which actually looks like swimming the breast stroke) and gets around much faster than we would like. He occasionally really crawls, although this little guy could care less about either. He would much rather be standing (with assistance) or pulling up, and he’s starting to try walking around some of the furniture.
For William’s nine-month update, we talked about how he needed to gain some weight. He had been eating solids, just not three times a day. Now that we have him on a three meal plus two snack routine, this baby is gaining weight! Because of the need to put on a few pounds, William was eating purees, to make sure he got enough calories, and then we were introducing table foods. He always loved eating pears, but could care less about the other food. Fast forward a few weeks and William wants anything and everything that we are eating. He ate a bowl of chili (must like spicy food like me!), pears, bananas and chicken are at the top of his list and he loves toast in the morning.
With his newfound love of eating, we decided to try pancakes- one of my favorite traditions growing up. I loved them with chocolate chips or mini-m&ms added to the batter! It’s never too early to start the same traditions for him (minus the chocolate, of course!), so one morning Gigi whipped up her famous pancakes and we let William go to town. It’s safe to say he loved them and that the pancake breakfast tradition will continue!
