Second Trimester Bumpdate

April 8, 2019

It’s hard to comprehend that we only have three months (or so) until we meet our new baby! In so many ways this pregnancy feels like it’s flying by, but I found out I was pregnant right before Halloween and that feels like a lifetime ago! Running around and playing with William and Henry leaves me little time to think about the fact that I’m pregnant with Baby #3. I’m trying to soak up all the time I have with them now and enjoying every minute!

We are getting so excited that we will be meeting our new baby so soon! The big brothers can hardly stand it and are always talking to the baby and kissing my stomach. It’s so sweet!

How far along?

27 weeks and three days.

How are you feeling?

Overall, pretty good. The whole second trimester was much better than the first as the nasuea has gone away. The last few weeks I have felt extremely tired and my body just feels sore! I’m hoping it’s just a phase because it will be a long three months if not!

What do you think you are having?

As we did with William and Henry, we decided to not find out the gender of this baby too, so we are all busy guessing. I think that as soon as we found out we were pregnant, we all assumed I’d be having another little boy! This pregnancy is very similar to Henry’s – the only difference is the nasuea lasted a little longer. Based on that, I think it’s a boy!

Do you have a name picked out?

For Henry, we went to the hospital with one boy name (Henry, obviously) and one girl name. This time, we still plan to use the girl name we had picked out during my last pregnancy and we have absolutely no idea for a boy! We are just starting to make a list and we’re hoping to have a list of a few boy names when we go to the hospital.

Cravings

I really haven’t had any cravings or aversions this time around. I do love anything sweet, but I think that’s all the time – not just during pregnancy!

Weight Gain

I don’t know the exact number since we lost our scale during our move. I’m just tracking from my monthly doctor appointments – so far within the recommendations from my Dr.!

Any tips for dressing in that awkward stage of regular clothes being too small and maternity too big?

I found that I was wearing jeans with oversized sweaters during that awkward stage this pregnancy! Now that the weather is warm, I am loving maxi dresses and really any kind of dress that works with the bump. I haven’t bought any new maternity clothes – I’m hoping to avoid it since this will be my last pregnancy. But I do have a few maternity dresses from Asos, Nordstrom and Shopbop from my last pregnancy that I will wear again once the bump gets much bigger! Hatch is a great “non-maternity” brand that is meant to be worn before/during/after pregnancy – that would be a good option!

Here are a few items I think would work for this time of year!

Are you working out?

I started going to Pure Barre last Fall before finding out I was pregnant and kept up with it until we got back from Maui. Both boys were sick and then I got sick. I just started going back again!

Do you have gestational diabetes again?

I’m scheduled for my gestational diabetes test this morning. I took a 1 hour test with my first trimester blood work (which came back negative) and will take it again next week. If I don’t pass the one hour, I will just assume I have gestational diabetes. I don’t want to sit through the three hour test when the chances are I will most likely have it again!

Non-Maternity Striped Maxi Dress

March 29, 2019

The last time I wore this striped maxi dress was when I was 39 weeks pregnant with Henry! It’s non-maternity and I wore it a lot both during and after my pregnancy. I had actually forgotten about it last year – I must have packed it up when we moved. Earlier this month I discovered it again while trying to organize my closet. I forgot just how much I love this dress and how comfortable it is!

The maxi length and the long sleeves make it a great transition dress, too! I’m hoping I can wear it up until 40 weeks again this pregnancy but my bump seems to be rather larger this time around!

ten midi dresses under $100

July 25, 2017

blue ruffle hem midi dressYou guys, it is so hot in Dallas. It’s officially that time of the summer where it’s hard to be outside if you’re not in the pool. Since William loves swimming, we have no problem running over to my parents’ house for a quick dip, but on the days we don’t get in the pool, the only thing I want to throw on is a comfy dress. This blue ruffle midi dress looks more put together than just a t-shirt dress, but it’s ever bit as comfortable. And, you seriously can’t beat the price! At $55, I wish it came in more than one color!
