With Labor Day on Monday, we are officially saying goodbye to summer! The changing of seasons is something we always look forward to: fall colors, updated wardrobes, booties & scarves are all on our radar. A good basic is worth the investment. We usually think of neutral colors when it comes to basics, but this silk tank in any color is just as versatile. For today, we paired it with skinny boyfriend jeans, but we also love it under a blazer or tucked into shorts or a skirt. It comes in so many great colors, we’re always adding a new one into the rotation! Do you have any basics that aren’t “basic”?

summer sangria

In our book, summer & sangria go hand-in-hand! A light red wine, some freshly squeezed fruit juices, and something sparkly (prosecco, sparkling water or citrus soda), poured over ice is the perfect drink for a summer evening – or afternoon at the pool! We also love this sangria swirled with one of the Allen family frozen margaritas. Our favorite sangria is a Coffman family recipe, with our own little twist. What’s your favorite summer sangria recipe?

Sangria:

2 C. Red Wine
2 C. Ginger Ale
1/4 C. Brandy
1/4 C. Triple Sec
Juice of 1 Orange and 1 Lime.
Add sliced fruit

This recipe as written is delicious! But, to add a little more citrus, we opt for Fresca instead of Ginger Ale!
