 Happy Friday! This week seemed like a long week– must be the anticipation of the upcoming 4th of July weekend!  While watching the US Mens soccer team play last Sunday, we made one of our go-to cocktail recipes.  For those of you who were asking on instagram, here is the recipe for The Blueberry Smash.  Bon Appetit has curated a few more “smash” recipes including:

A smash is a perfect summer cocktail, usually with some type of fruit involved and served over crushed ice.  Each of these drinks is so unique & we plan to work through the rest of the recipes this summer!  Sounds like a terrible job, doesn’t it?  Next up… The Charteuse Smash! cocktail hour: the nacho vidal

One of the things we love to do when we get together is to serve a signature cocktail.  It’s so much fun to try new techniques & flavor combinations.  Sometimes we refer to The Flavor Bible (see our post here) for interesting combos and sometimes we turn to one of our online favorites like Bon Appétit or Epicurious to inspire us. For our Super Bowl get-together we made the Nacho Vidal.  What a great name for a cocktail, right?!  This drink is an intriguing mixture of flavors & incorporates a new technique for us – the shrub.  A shrub is a flavored vinegar that imparts a different level of complexity and depth of flavor.  The Nacho Vidal incorporates a Chili-Lime Shrub.  It may sound weird, but it makes for a very yummy cocktail!
