This weekend we are headed to Austin for a much needed weekend getaway and a visit to Travaasa Resort & Spa! Happy April! This past weekend the weather was perfect in Dallas, seriously perfect! We spent as much time outside as possible. On Saturday, our husbands played golf, while we lunched on the patio at True Food Kitchen and walked around Preston Center – with a little shopping thrown in of course! And on Sunday, we brunched outside by the pool, had every door and window open when we weren’t outside, and built a summer garden. We can’t wait to have loads of fresh herbs, jalapeños, cherry tomatoes and lettuce!

All this beautiful weather made us ready to lighten up the wardrobe. We felt an instant uplift in our mood when we did! This light, white top is going to be perfect for spring and summer in Dallas. And we love these light icy blue, almost white jeans from Gap. Gap has been killing it lately with all things spring (loving this maxi, this adorable pastel clutch and this floral moto jacket has got to be added to our closet)! We decided to dress this outfit up by adding these Zara metallic heels and this amazing statement necklace from Reece & Blaire. The color of it adds some great depth to the outfit, while staying in shades of blue. This necklace has the unique feature of changing colors slightly depending on what it’s worn with, going into purple, navy, gray and blue, giving us a lot of opportunities to incorporate it into our wardrobe!

lemon ricotta pancakes

This weekend marked the third of four spring birthdays in our family! We had a great weekend celebrating with family & food. The weather was beautiful and we spent most of our time outside enjoying it. On Saturday night we grilled out & on Sunday we prepared brunch at home, trying recipes we haven’t made before. We whipped up some homemade biscuits & cream gravy, and served those alongside lemon ricotta pancakes with fresh blueberries and strawberries. We had a great time making them both and put a lot of kitchen appliances and utensils into play! In the end, everything came out at the same time and was delicious. Brunch by the pool along with fresh grapefruit mimosas – what better way to end a birthday weekend?!
