Caleb and I really wanted to getaway on a vacation, just the two of us before baby #2 arrived. Right before we were scheduled to leave town, William came down with a virus and we decided to stay home with him. We were fortunate to be able to reschedule our babymoon, but we did have to change it up just a little bit! We were still able to stay on the beach, but we also had one night in Downtown San Diego. For as many times as we have been to San Diego, we had never spent much time downtown, so that was a fun bonus. The whole goal of the babymoon was to spend quality time together and relax, and that’s exactly what we did. We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather, either!
Downtown San Diego
Pendry San Diego: The Pendry San Diego is a brand new hotel from Montage hotels. It’s in the heart of the Gaslamp District and only 15 minutes from the airport. We took the trolley to the Little Italy Farmer’s Market, went to the spa and fell asleep at the stunning rooftop pool. Breakfast at Provisional was delicious. We enjoyed everything we had, but the mini donuts are amazing! A must have.
Del Mar
L’Auberge Del Mar: Del Mar is a beach town about 20 minutes north of San Diego. L’Auberge is in the heart of Del Mar and we either walked or rode bikes everywhere! It has beautiful views of the ocean and a beach valet service to get you set up for a day at the beach. We spent our time at the pool, walking on the beach and eating delicious seafood!
