Soup Season

October 19, 2021

The weather in Dallas has been unusually hot for this time of year! So when we heard we were getting a “cold front” we immediately wanted to make our favorite soup for dinner.

I ordered our groceries using my Walmart+ membership for free same day delivery from your store ($35 minimum. Restrictions apply) We’ve been cooking our way through this cookbook and the Creamy Tortilla-less Soup became a favorite! I knew I would have my groceries in time to prepare dinner and I was able to get all the fresh, healthy ingredients I needed.

I love utilizing my Walmart+ membership because of free same day delivery on groceries and more ($35 order minimum, restrictions apply), saving me time and stress. I don’t have to find an opportunity to go to the store or haul the boys along and I always get the fresh, healthy ingredients I’m looking for. And I know the prices for Walmart+ are always Walmart’s everyday low prices with no markups on any items. It’s a win-win-win every time, making my life as a busy mom so much easier!

PS: There are many more benefits of a Walmart+ membership than free same-day delivery on groceries and more ($35 order minimum. Restrictions apply.) You can read all of the benefits of a Walmart+ membership and sign up to start your free trial. You’ll love it!

Styling an Ice Cream Bar Cart

June 29, 2021

It’s official- summer is here and we couldn’t be happier! Summer entertaining is one of our favorite things to do and we’re finding so much inspiration at Walmart Home. In our family, summer nights usually end eating ice cream. We found this easy to use ice cream maker at Walmart Home and decided to try our hand at making our own homemade ice cream!

The whole process only takes about 20 minutes, so we decided to set up a cute ice cream bar for the boys for after dinner treats. We placed the ice cream maker, these cute ice cream cups and spoons, colorful napkins and all the toppings on this adorable bar cart that we also found at Walmart Home. We love this white vase and it was the perfect filler for the bottom of the bar cart! The bar cart can be used both indoors and outdoors, and it was the perfect way to serve up our ice cream. The boys love making homemade ice cream and we love making it fun and festive. If your family prefers a more traditional ice cream maker, Walmart also has this one available that looks like an old fashioned ice cream churn– so cute!

PS: This would be so easy to translate to other summer treats like a snow cone party, frozen yogurt, or even a frozen margarita setup for the adults!

Blood Orange Margarita Recipe

May 11, 2021

blood range margarita

// pool slides // cover-up //

It seems like every year when spring rolls around, and it starts getting a little warmer, our thoughts go straight to summer. Meaning that we’re spending lots of time in and by the pool, dining on the patio and mixing delicious cocktails.

We love to experiment with new recipes, so when we spied blood oranges in the grocery store, we decided to see what we could mix up. Lately our go to cocktail has been a margarita made by our favorite bartender- Stia’s husband. He has it down to an art! We thought adding some blood orange juice would be interesting… and it is so good! For as long as blood oranges are in season, the blood orange margarita is our new go to!

Blood Orange Margarita

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. good quality tequila (we use Casamigas Blanco)
  • 1 oz. Cointreau (orange liquer)
  • Juice from 1/2 large blood orange
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • Agave nectar to taste (we use a small squeeze, use more if you prefer a sweeter drink)
  • Topo Chico sparkling mineral water

Mix all ingredients well in a double old-fashioned glass. Add ice to fill and stir well again. Top with a glug of Topo Chico. Enjoy!

Cheers,

Stia, Jean and Katherine
