If you’ve been reading our blog for very long, you know that shoes and handbags are our “thing.” Our theory is to invest in shoes and handbags, buying more trendy clothing with a much lower price tag, and splurging on those shoes and handbags that you will have for years and years and years to come.

This Thursday, October 1st, we are thrilled to be hosting the Neiman Marcus Shoe and Handbag event at Neiman Marcus Willow Bend with our friend Ashley of The Teacher Diva. What could be better than an evening spent drooling over the latest shoes and handbags, sipping champagne and watching a runway show? We will be talking about shoe and handbag trends for fall and how to style them! Details can be found below- hope to see you there!

PS: I finally had to bite the bullet and start wearing maternity jeans. Honestly, I don’t know why I waited so long! These DL1961 maternity jeans are the exact same style as my favorite non-maternity pair, with just a bit of elastic added. I am obsessed!

Our trip to New York for Fashion Week was a whirlwind. From landing in New York early Saturday morning and leaving early Monday morning, we hardly had time to think. Look out next week for a full recap on our trip!

On Sunday, we had a busy morning, followed by a quick outfit change at the hotel before afternoon meetings, the rewardStyle party and dinner. To be completely honest, it was really hard to shop for Fashion Week this year. Usually, I am over prepared but with our trip to London, work travel, and a bump that is growing everyday, outfits for Fashion Week didn’t even enter my mind until the week before we left! Luckily, I fell in love with this floral ruffle dress on a last minute trip to the mall before we left. The dress gave me room for baby bump growth, and at $90 I couldn’t say no. It turned out to be the perfect dress to keep me comfortable during a busy Sunday afternoon, and I paired it with rockstud kitten heels to make sure my feet didn’t hurt! I plan on wearing a favorite pair of olive green suede booties with this dress once the weather starts to cool down.

Sunday in New York was just a perfect day. The weather was fall-like, the skies were blue and the temperature felt just right. After landing back in Dallas yesterday, we were greeted with warmer weather, but nothing compared to how hot it had been before we left. And after those few nice days in New York, fall cannot get here soon enough!

Shirtdresses have been a longtime favorite thing for us to wear any season, but we are especially loving them right now for fall. In the past, shirtdresses seemed to be more utilitarian or masculine, but there is nothing utilitarian or masculine about this floral shirtdress. Plus, we are loving the updated length and pretty much anything midi right now. Another detail of a shirtdress is the belt. It helps to accentuate any waist line, but since I am 22 (almost 23) weeks pregnant, I love how it helps show off my baby bump! When it gets a little cooler we think a long cardigan, like this one, will look great over it.

If you like a more utilitarian look, this shirt dress is adorable and under $100, or if you love the midi length, this plaid shirt dress is a steal at $98.
