Here’s our take on the NYE LBD, or New Year’s Eve Little Black Dress (but that’s a mouthful!). In the past, we’ve done the sequins, the hot pink or the low back, but there’s just something so elegant about a LBD – especially with an added twist of sparkle for New Year’s Eve. You can take this dress with a subtle sparkle and add in some fun statement pieces, for example this leopard clutch, great earrings, and shimmery wrap. For an edgier look, add Valentino Rock Studs. Whichever way you decide to put it together, we don’t think you can go wrong with a NYE LBD!

pomegranate margaritas

Remember our Twist on Thanksgiving post? Well, the pomegranate margaritas were so good, we couldn’t put them down to stop and take a picture! They have just the right amount of pomegranate flavor without being overly sweet, and enough tequila that you know it’s there. They are festive, fun, just plain yummy, & a great addition to your holiday cocktail repertoire!

Pomegranate Margarita

1 ounce Cointreau
4 ounces Tequila
3 ounces pomegranate juice
2 ounces lime juice
coarse salt for the rim
lime wedges & pomegranate arils for garnish

Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip in coarse salt. In a cocktail shaker, combine cointreau, tequila, pomegranate juice (we like POM), and lime juice. Fill with ice & shake until the cocktail shaker is quite cold. Fill the glass with ice and pour the margarita over. Garnish with some pomegranate arils and lime wedges. If we are making more than one – and we usually are! – we like to put the margarita ingredients in a pitcher and stir over ice, then pour into the prepared glasses and add garnish. The recipe is easy to double, triple, quadruple…

Have you recovered from all the Christmas festivities yet?! We’re still enjoying Christmas pajamas and relaxing. As with Black Friday, we don’t like to venture out into the crowds on the day after Christmas. But, prior to Christmas, we were busy running here and there seeing friends & celebrating. This meant sprinting out of the house from work and trying to look “festive.” This plaid dress fits the bill and has been on repeat since buying it earlier this month. We love the subtle plaid, and have worn it a variety of ways: without a vest, with bordeaux fur vest or black fur vest, flat boots or booties, leggings, bare legs or tights. We weren’t kidding about this dress being on repeat!

For those of you on a long vacation from work/school/etc, enjoy your time off! We sure are!
