This has been the craziest winter! The days that we have worn an actual coat have been slim to none. In no way, shape or form are we complaining, it has just been pretty unusual! In fact, we have gotten more wear out of our leather coats, blanket scarves and vests. A shearling vest from last year has been one of our favorite layering pieces, so this year we decided to add a new shearling vest in a chocolate brown color. We love the unexpected look it adds to an otherwise simple outfit. Plus, it’s so comfortable. Katherine wore this look all day (and night!) while Stia was in labor at the hospital!

Keeping on the same trend as this post, simplification of a closet is key. This winter we have invested in some key pieces, most of those being neutrals. They are easy to pair with other items in a closet and can be worn from season to season. In fact, this shearling vest has gotten more than enough wear this fall & winter! It’s easy to bundle up with a knit sweater for when you need to fight the cold, but we are so excited for chilly spring days to pair it with a favorite tee and slip on shoes.
