I had good intentions of getting William transitioned into his big boy bed before Henry arrived, but I didn’t really know when the right time to do it was! He sleeps so good in his crib and I really like the idea of keeping him in one spot. I don’t have to worry about him wandering around his room/the upstairs while we are sleeping. Plus, I knew that with a newborn comes lack of sleep and I thought this transition may bring lack of sleep before Henry arrived! So, here we are. William is still in the crib and Henry is still in a bassinet in our room. Which brings me to my question; when is the right time to transition your toddler to a bed?
William isn’t climbing out of his crib, he takes long naps and sleeps twelve hours a night, so when do I rock the boat? We have the bed set up in his room, he loves to read and snuggle in it, but when I ask him if he wants to sleep in his bed, he says no. Our timing is getting shorter and shorter because we are planning to move Henry out of our room and into their shared room after we are done traveling and before the Holidays.
So when did you mommas decide to do it?! Would love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions – as we are getting closer to transition William to his big boy bed!
In the meantime, we thought we would share his little space in their room. We are so happy with the way it turned out and we think William is too!
PS: We have a DockATot Grand and bed rails to try out once we actually transition him!
