Before we left for London and Portugal, I was looking for a travel stroller. I love my UPPAbaby VISTA, but with the small streets, tiny restaurants and just tighter spaces in general, I wanted to have a small, but durable stroller to make it easier to get around. When I read about the UPPAbaby MINU I was seriously intrigued. It’s small but sturdy, and you can open and close with one hand. There is ample storage space in the basket under the seat and a handy pocket on the back that’s great for keeping your phone and a water bottle. It also has a great UV 50+ sun shield and with all the time we were going to be spending outside, that was an important feature for me.

You all know I am a huge fan of the UPPAbaby stroller system, so I was so happy to get to try out the UPPAbaby MINU on our trip! Using the MINU strollers made travel in Europe an absolute breeze. I really can’t say enough good things about our experience using the MINU for our travels! While we were traveling, so many of you had questions about the stroller, so we thought a FAQs about the UPPAbaby MINU would be helpful!

FAQS about the UPPAbaby MINU

Can you carry-on the stroller?

This size of the stroller when folded is small enough to be a carry-on (Folded: 11.5″L x 20.5″W x 23″H), but you will want to double check with the airline you fly to be sure it meets their requirements. It also counts as one of your personal belongings, so make sure you only have one other bag! We decided to gate check both strollers and it worked out well for us.

Does it have a travel bag?

At this time the UPPAbaby MINU comes with a storage bag only. UPPAbaby will offer a MINU TravelSafe Travel Bag, similar to their other luggage-grade bags, which will be a backpack style (hands free!). That will be available next month. You can also register your stroller with UPPAbaby and if you have any problems while traveling, they will fix it!

What about the infant car seat? Can you use it with this stroller?

We arranged a car service that had car seats for the boys or used public transportation, so we ended up leaving the car seats at home. The MINU will have adapters available for the MESA car seat, which will be available starting next month!

Why didn’t you bring your VISTA instead?

You all know that I am huge UPPAbaby fan. I started out with the UPPAbaby VISTA and MESA when William was born, used the G-LUXE as he got older and when Henry came along, I utilized the UPPAbaby VISTA as a double stroller. The VISTA serves as our everyday stroller when we’re at home- I love that both boys can be in one stroller, but without the additional width of a side by side stroller. I didn’t bring the VISTA because I was looking for something more compact to navigate through Europe. It is so tight on public transportation, actually pretty much everywhere, and there are many places where we had to navigate stairs. Quickly folding and carrying the MINU up or down the stairs was so easy. I also had lots of extra hands, so it was no trouble having two separate strollers!
