“You’ve Been Booed”

When I was growing up, one of our favorite Halloween traditions was being “Booed!” by someone in the neighborhood. Being “Booed!” involves a surprise doorstep delivery of a bag, basket, or some kind of container filled with Halloween goodies and treats. It’s a secret delivery so no one knows who has “booed” them. After you’ve been “booed” you put a sign in your window that says “you’ve been booed!”, so the neighbors know you’ve gotten some goodies. Then you make your own surprise delivery to another neighbor or two!

We are so happy that this tradition is still going on in the neighborhood where we now live! William and Henry had so much fun helping us choose surprises, goodies and pumpkin pails using our Walmart+ membership. Using Walmart+ made it so easy to decide what items we wanted and we found the cutest pumpkin pails in the favorite color of each of our neighbor’s children. Recieving free unlimited delivery with our Walmart+ membership (with a minimum $35 purchase, restrictions apply) made assembling our “Booed!” bags so easy, time saving, and stress free!

We recently got a Walmart+ membership because we’ve loved using their pickup and delivery service and, now that we can get free unlimited delivery ($35 minimum, restrictions apply) with our membership, it’s even more of a game changer. We also use it to order diapers and wipes for Ford, our favorite “fizzy water“, organic food, snacks, and lunch supplies for the boys. These are things that we run out of fast and we need quickly so this has been one of our favorite benefits of our Walmart+ membership.

Ford’s 15 Month Update

October 6, 2020

Time flies! Ford has always been such a fun baby, but the past few months with him have been especially fun. He is now taking only one nap, so we have a lot more time during the day to be together. He is so busy, never stopping and he loves to eat. He is growing like crazy! And it seems like every day he is learning something new that he can’t wait to show us!

I am really loving this age, because William and Henry are back at school and that means I get two days a week with Ford only. It’s the best.

Height/Weight

Ford weighs almost 25 pounds and is in the 97% for height.

Sleeping

Thankfully, Ford has no trouble going down for bed or naps. He’s the easiest one to get to sleep and is still sleeping right through the night.

Personality

Ford continues to have so much personality. He is so busy and into everything. We keep saying that he is trying to keep up with his older brothers – everything they do, he attempts!

He is always walking around with his lovey “bun bun” and now a baby doll too. He is still a thumb sucker and he gets so cuddly when he’s sleepy!

He loves playing chase, still dances all the time and sings “EIEIO”, “Row Row” and now “B-I-N-G-O” It is so cute! He points at everything, loves handing something to you and saying “here” and he climbs on everything!

Schedule

The biggest change in Ford’s schedule is that he is now taking one nap a day. With that change, he normally wakes up around 8ish, nap is around 1 and bedtime around 7. On the days when he wakes up early or he seems to be tired, I’ll put him down for a morning cat nap. His schedule really just depends on the day!

Nursing/Weaning

I always take a slow, gradual weaning process. Ford is now down to just nursing in the morning and at night.

Solids

Ford is still a huge fan of eating anything and everything and not much has changed since his one year update. I know his food strike is coming, but right now he is loving food. He grew two inches in two months so he needs lots of energy for his growing body!

Travel

After much thoughtful consideration, we decided to go on our family trip to San Diego in August. We had the absolute best time. Ford was all about the sand and water and it was a huge change from our trip to San Diego when he was only 2 months old!

Milestones

  • Basically, running anywhere and everywhere. He’s even started to jump up and down!
  • Ford’s vocabulary is really taking shape. He loves to say bun bun, his brothers’ names, look, here, i love you, pumpkin, mama, dada, gigi, wow and his favorite word – “no, no”
  • Feeds himself with spoon and fork
  • Moved to a convertible car seat

Must-Have Baby Items for 15 month olds:

  • Sippy cups
  • Ford loves this baby doll
  • Stacking cups and blocks
  • Cozy hat for winter
  • Booster seat
  • Convertible car seat
  • Plates, cups, silverware
  • You can see what our must-haves are for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months, too.

Cheers,

Stia, Jean and Katherine

William’s Bedroom

September 29, 2020

toddler boy bedroom twin beds

It’s been nearly two years since we moved into our house and we’ve almost completed William’s room! Really, about the only thing that’s left is adding new drapes. I love the French blue of the bedding, the monogram pillows and blankets, and the pop of orange on the pillows and lamp. His room is light and bright! The animals in the artwork and on his side table are the perfect touch for a little boy’s room.

We added floating bookshelves on the wall opposite the twin beds to store favorite books. We change the books frequently and he loves looking up to see what books are there to read at nap time and bed time. Kid-size armchairs are at the foot of each bed and they make the perfect place to snuggle in and read.

We thought that the boys would be sharing a room, so we did two twin beds, but Henry really likes to sleep in his big bed in his own room. I think eventually he’ll be joining his brother in this room!

Room Details

  • Paint: Benjamin Moore White Dove
  • Lighting: Chandelier and Lamp
  • Bedding: Duvet, Euro Shams and standard shams
  • Artwork: Gray Malin Welcome to the Parker and Always Welcome at the Parker (Framed by Framebridge in the Irvine Slim)
  • Bed
  • End table
  • Throw Blanket: Initial block blanket in off-white and country blue

Cheers,

Stia, Jean and Katherine
