Happy Thanksgiving! We love that there is a day dedicated to being thankful, and it just happens to be one of our favorite holidays. There is nothing like spending time with loved ones, cooking up a feast, watching football and expressing thanks!

Our family is low-key for Thanksgiving. We like to sleep in, enjoy coffee and breakfast, and cook Thanksgiving dinner together. We always watch the Cowboys game and sometimes watch a movie or play a game after dinner is over. One of our favorite parts of the day is sitting around the dinner table and talking about the ways God has blessed us in the past year and how we have seen His hand working in our lives. For days like today comfort is key, an oversized plaid shirt or comfy sweater, and worn-in jeans is typically our uniform for Thanksgiving. Plus, it’s a great casual outfit to wear throughout fall!

white lace dress

Continuing with the baby shower theme (you can find details about Baby Coffman’s shower here), I thought today it would be fun to would share details about what I wore to the shower! I had seen this white lace dress back in September and absolutely fell in love with it. I knew I wanted to wear something like it to my baby shower, but totally disregarded the dress because it was non-maternity.

Fast forward to November. With only two weeks until the shower, I started frantically searching for a dress to wear. I can’t tell you how many dresses I ordered: maxi and short, lace and sweater, loose and tight. And none of them worked. In my mind I had envisioned wearing white lace and wanted something with sleeves–it is November after all! After trying no less than twenty dresses, my mom suggested we go to Neimans and try on the white lace dress I fell in love with months ago, and either get the dress, or get over it. Much to our surprise, the dress fit like a glove and needed no alterations! It was perfect. I plan to wear it with a black slip and black heels to an upcoming Christmas party, and again after Baby Coffman arrives! This clothing line is new to us, and it feels like every piece is a work of art. A few favorites from the newest collection include: this blush pink lace dress, a little black dress that makes a statement and this stunning white lace blouse.

After a whirlwind weekend with family in town, we decided to take a day off from the blog to enjoy our guests and unplug for a few days. It was much needed after a very busy, but very fun weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we were able to cook out, play cornhole and enjoy each other’s company. Stia’s baby shower was on Sunday afternoon, and was so special and beautiful! So thankful for all of our dear family and friends who were there to celebrate Baby C. We can’t wait to share more pictures, but until then here is a peek at our outfits.

With less than two months until my due date, I am being very selective about purchasing maternity pieces. I have carefully selected a few sweaters, a couple of plaid button downs and a few dresses to get me through the next 8 weeks. Fortunately, a few of my non-maternity oversized sweaters still fit, so I will be depending on those these next two months, too! One place I did splurge during this season are these suede over the knee boots. The price tag made me think long and hard, but since I have worn these leather over the knee boots more times than I can count over the past few years, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. So far, I am more than happy with this new addition. Here’s to crossing my fingers that my shoe size doesn’t go up during these last few months of pregnancy!
