Dallas has had an amazingly mild winter and spring- which we love! But it does present a little bit of a problem when it comes to what to wear. Some days you feel like you could be in a tank top, but it just doesn’t feel appropriate. And at any moment the wind could switch and you will need a coat.

We love having a sleeveless sweater in our wardrobe for this kind of weather. It’s warm enough for even a chilly day, but if the sun comes out it’s not too hot. And it’s a great layering piece under a jacket or coat. This look was perfect last weekend when we were out brunching at True Foods Kitchen and doing some Birthday inspiration shopping at Highland Park Village!

maternity style for fall, cute maternity sweaterAfter a whirlwind weekend with family in town, we decided to take a day off from the blog to enjoy our guests and unplug for a few days. It was much needed after a very busy, but very fun weekend.  The weather was beautiful, so we were able to cook out, play cornhole and enjoy each other’s company. Stia’s baby shower was on Sunday afternoon, and was so special and beautiful! So thankful for all of our dear family and friends who were there to celebrate Baby C. We can’t wait to share more pictures, but until then here is a peek at our outfits.

With less than two months until my due date, I am being very selective about purchasing maternity pieces. I have carefully selected a few sweaters, a couple of plaid button downs and a few dresses to get me through the next 8 weeks. Fortunately, a few of my non-maternity oversized sweaters still fit, so I will be depending on those these next two months, too! One place I did splurge during this season are these suede over the knee boots. The price tag made me think long and hard, but since I have worn these leather over the knee boots more times than I can count over the past few years, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. So far, I am more than happy with this new addition. Here’s to crossing my fingers that my shoe size doesn’t go up during these last few months of pregnancy!

Last week we hosted the Neiman Marcus Willow Bend Shoe and Handbag Event, and let’s just say we cannot wait to break out our boots for fall.  We loved seeing the different ways to style shoes for fall and like every year, we get most excited to wear new boots!

With each new season, we like to splurge on a new pair of boots that will take us through the season.  The Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots are here to stay, and so are over the knee boots.  But, with each new season comes a little variation, like fringe and Beatle boots this year.  We’ve been scouting online to find the top 10 boots for fall, and we’re hoping to splurge on a pair this week.  The front contenders in our book: these embellished ankle boots, and these open-toe boots.  Of course you will be seeing us in these over-the-knee boots, and our go-to flat 50/50 boots.  Now we want to know which styles you are most looking forward to wearing!
