nyfw day 1

Today, we remember that day that forever changed our country. It was very sobering to be in New York during September and see the lights from where the World Trade Center towers once stood. Our thoughts and prayers are for those families who lost loved ones on that horrific day.

Fashion week was a complete whirlwind! It was our first time to attend and we had an absolute blast. The only thing missing was Katherine! Our only regret about our time in New York is not taking enough outfit post pictures. We snapped a few on our first day in New York and only got one more outfit post the whole time we were there! Don’t worry though, we will be sharing all our Fashion Week outfits over the next few weeks, but our background will be Dallas instead of New York!

We chose today’s looks for a day full of meetings and our first ever fashion show experience at Lincoln Center. We went to the Trina Turk – Mr. Turk Show and, let’s just say we are already longing for Spring/Summer ’15! For NYFW Day 1, Jean went with a fall floral dress from Trina Turk & Stia opted for an on-trend green midi skirt & floral crop top.

grey sweatshirt

One thing we love about fall is sweaters. When doing a little shopping in Vegas at Topshop, we found this adorable grey sweatshirt with a little ruffle layering. Sold. A great oversized sweater with skinny jeans looks so chic, but unfortunately Dallas is not experiencing fall like weather yet. We paired this sweater with boyfriend shorts for running errands, but are counting down the days until cooler weather..

While shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last week, we stumbled upon this matching separates outfit from Topshop. Knowing that we were heading to Southern California, we immediately picked it up to wear on the trip! On Thursday, we headed to Laguna Beach to meet with Gorjana, creators of a beautiful jewelry line, to preview their amazing fall collection – we loved it! Afterward, we made our way to the Montage Laguna Beach for drinks & lunch. The Montage is a stunning property with the Pacific Ocean as its spectacular backdrop. With the incredible weather and the blue-green of the ocean, we think this geometric print outfit complemented the surroundings perfectly!
