Game Day Nachos

September 20, 2022

Football is back! It’s always fun when football season starts, because it’s a sign that the seasons are changing. One of our favorite traditions this time of year is Football Sunday, where our families all get together and watch our favorite NFL teams play. We are big Chargers and Cowboys fans, so we usually plan to watch together (if our schedule and William’s football schedule allow!).

Since we are a large crowd to feed (there are 9 of us!), we like to make things that can feed a large group, but also won’t bust the budget. These Game Day nachos are amazing and a hit with everyone! We found all the ingredients at Walmart, using Walmart’s affordable private label brands. With Walmart’s private label brands, we were able to find the quality that we always look for, and so many organic options, which is a big plus for us. By switching to Walmart private label brands, we’re able to feed our group and save money!

Game Day Nachos

  • Line a large baking sheet with foil
  • Cook ground beef with taco seasoning
  • Line a large baking sheet with foil and cover the baking sheet with tortilla chips
  • Add shredded cheese to cover the chips (we used organic sharp cheddar)
  • Heat refried beans in a pan to soften
  • Add dollops of beans, ground beef and corn on top of cheese
  • Top with some more shredded cheese
  • Heat under broil setting until cheese has melted and chips are starting to brown slightly
  • Once the nachos are out of the oven, add the other toppings. We like to use jalapeños, pickled jalapeños, chopped tomatoes, sliced green onions, cilantro, salsa, sour cream and avocado. You really can use anything that sounds good to you!

We like to pile the nachos on a big platter and let everyone serve themselves. So fun, easy and yummy!

After School Snack Board

September 6, 2022

mom with two little boys having after school snack board

When my boys get home from school, they are hungry. I like to have something for them to snack on right away that will help keep them full enough until dinner! My little guys love yogurt, so I love to have some yogurt with some toppings for them. My oldest is a big fan of apples and almond butter, so I typically have that ready to go for him, too. I don’t always serve these snacks with sprinkles or mini chocolate chips, but it was the first week of pre-school so it made for a fun surprise! A snack board is such a fun post-school treat and the perfect time to sit and chat about their days.

With prices rising what seems like daily, I’m always on the lookout for ways to save. Feeding three growing boys is a lot! I found that shopping Walmart’s private label is a great way to save. With Walmart’s private label brands I can find all the foods my boys love and the quality that I look for when shopping for groceries. I can find organic fresh fruits and veggies, quality snacks, and so much more, all under Walmart’s private label.

Blessing Mix

November 23, 2021

Happy Thanksgiving week! Last week at pre-school, Ford’s teacher did the sweetest activity with the class. Each student brought an item and together at school they made a “Blessing Mix.” My older boys loved the idea of the Blessing Mix and wanted to make it to bring to their friends before Thanksgiving. This was such a fun and easy idea to do together and using our Walmart+ membership made it stress free!

Blessing Mix Ingredients

  • Bugles: Represent the cornucopia, the horn of plenty
  • Pretzels: Arms folded in thankfulness and prayer
  • Hershey Kiss: Reminder of friends & family that make life so sweet
  • M&Ms: Memories of those that came before
  • Cheerios: Representing God’s unending love
  • Popcorn: Stands for the abundance of the harvest

Everyone is home from school this week for Thanksgiving, so we decided it was the perfect time to make the blessing mix for their friends. We utilized our Walmart+ membership for unlimited free delivery on fresh, high-quality groceries and ordered all the ingredients we needed to make these fun, last-minute Thanksgiving treats for our friends. Not only were we able to order all the ingredients we needed, but we were also able to order the treat bags and orange ribbon to complete our project. With the Holidays in full swing, my Walmart+ membership will be so helpful when I run out of every day ingredients, need for a fun craft for the boys, need to bring an appetizer to a holiday get-together or realize I’m out of diapers for Ford (it happens!).

I use my Walmart+ membership all the time for unlimited free delivery ($35 minimum) order. With three little ones at home, I can easily shop for fresh, high-quality groceries from the comfort of my home. It makes holiday entertaining stress free! If you haven’t started a Walmart+ membership, we highly recommend joining before the busyness of the Holiday season! I have saved so much time/stress this year by using my membership. Plus, right now you can try it out with a free trial! My favorite part is the unlimited free delivery ($35 minimum) and free shipping, no order minimum (Excludes most marketplace items, locations & freight surcharges).

Hoping you all can enjoy a happy, stress free Holiday season with a Walmart+ membership!
