my favorite moments at home with william

May 8, 2017

pajama romper and pink robe

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting a lot on being William’s mommy. It’s such a blessing and I don’t ever want to take any of it for granted. One of the things I’ve been thinking about is my everyday favorite moments with William. There is so much joy in those seemingly ordinary times. Just a little caveat: we also have our moments of struggle too. William is 15 months old after all! I’ll save those moments for another time 🙂

Mornings with William

After William wakes up I usually bring him into bed with me for some morning snuggles. They don’t last very long but they are very sweet. I’ll have my coffee and he’ll have his sippy cup of almond milk and we typically read a few stories (over and over again). There are usually also some sweet kisses and tickling involved! I’m not exactly a morning person, so I love having this time to wake up together. Then we head downstairs for breakfast, and our day begins!

Evenings with William

Other than nap time and eating, William doesn’t stop all day. He takes one long nap in the afternoon, usually about 3-4 hours, and after that he’s non-stop. Believe me I am so thankful for that long afternoon nap! One of my other favorite times with William is when bedtime rolls around. I love our bedtime routine (it’s just changed slightly since he was nine months old!). After dinner, William takes a bath (which is his favorite time of the day with Caleb), then we get him in his pajamas. We play in his nursery for a while, trying to get all his energy out. Even after a non-stop day, he has still has energy to burn! I can usually tell when he’s about ready for bed when he starts to rub his eyes. That’s when we grab a couple of his favorite books and crawl up in the rocker for story time. He will actually sit still and relax for a little while we read and snuggle. Then we say our goodnight prayers, say goodnight to William’s animal friends and tuck William in bed. Precious moments.

What are your favorite moments with your little ones?

nursery reveal

February 1, 2016

how-to-decorate-a-gender-neutral-nursery

After months of planning, we are so excited to finally share our nursery reveal! Caleb and I decided we didn’t want to know the gender of our baby before birth, which presented a little bit of a challenge when it came to decorating Baby C’s nursery. An all white/cream nursery was what I had in mind for a gender neutral nursery, and when I found this iron crib at Bratt Decor, it set the tone for the whole room.

Once the crib was decided, I started to look to Pinterest to find gender neutral nursery inspiration.  I found a picture of these darling baby animal prints and knew we had to have them for our baby’s nursery. We added a few touches of gold, some additional safari animals, including “Ned” the giant giraffe and the adorable “Welcome to the Parker” print. The nursery became complete with a great chandelier and a beautiful cream rug, perfect for laying on the floor playing with our little blessing. We are so happy with the way it turned out!

Now that William has arrived, we may decide to add some color, but we really love the fresh look of his room, and it really seems to fit him. The past two weeks have been the absolute best (and most tiring) time of our lives.  We’re constantly thanking God for this precious little guy and can’t wait to formally introduce him to you next week!

gender neutral nursery inspiration

October 2, 2015

Even before we found out I was pregnant, Caleb and I always knew we were going to wait to find out the sex of our baby.  We have experienced so many different reactions when we tell people that we are waiting to find out the gender, so we will make sure and share a post on why we decided to wait!  With just a little over three months left to go, I have been working really hard on finalizing plans for a gender neutral nursery.  I knew I wanted the space to consist mostly of whites and creams, adding in color once Baby Coffman is here.

The first major thing we decided on was the baby’s crib.  I had the hardest time picking out a crib, but once I found the joy crib from Bratt Decor I knew it was the one.  I loved the distresed iron, and I love how it will work for boy or girl!  After deciding on the crib, I was able to utilize the Bratt Decor design board to start envisioning our gender neutral nursery.

Our next major decisions include choosing a rocker/glider and dresser.  I love this linen glider in white from Bratt Decor, but also love the look of this rocker.  Once those decisions have been made, I plan on adding small touches of safari animals.  Ned has already found a home in the nursery and I can’t wait to add these animal prints above the crib! After that will come all the accessories: a rug, a pouf, this beautiful baby blanket and this animal themed mobile.

I am so excited about the progress we are making, but we still have a ton to do.  And each week is going by faster and faster, which means we are getting closer and closer to meeting our little one!
